Setlist: The Hold Steady, Oxegen, 13 July 2008

Franz Nicolay Hold Steady at Oxegen
Best barroom band in the world? Best green Room band in the world anyway, at Oxegen 2008. No-one can match Craig Finn for flying around like a kid pretending to be an airplane. Nor can anyone match those lyrics (save for Richard Hawley). The tent was packed this afternoon, and rightly so. Didn’t I tell you they were brilliant? Finn also noted that the song ‘Navy Sheets’ is “about how you should always buy white sheets”. Listen to the lyrics and you’ll know why!

‘Constructive Summer’
‘Hot Soft Light’
‘Chips Ahoy’
‘Sequestered in Memphis’
‘Navy Sheets’
‘Yeah Sapphire’
‘Stuck Between Stations’
‘Stay Positive’
‘Your Little Hoodrat Friend’
‘Slapped Actress’
