Last night, Kanye West tweeted to his 1.4 million followers on twitter that the album cover for his upcoming album, My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, had been banned from US Record Stores. A while later, he posted a link to the image above – the banned album art – and I must say, it’s not really that shocking. I’m actually surprised that something like this would be banned. Especially considering that album art like Nevermind, Country Life, Electric Ladyland, or Blind Faith is on those same CD racks. A new album cover will have to be designed (most likely by George Condo, who created the cover above as well as that of single ‘Power’), and it won’t be a glove, believe me.
The album itself comes out the 22nd of November in the US, and has nine confirmed tracks including that single, ‘Power’, and some other tracks we’ve already heard: ‘Devil in a New Dress’, ‘Runaway’, and ‘See Me Now’.
Confirmed Tracks:
“Power” (featuring Dwele)
“Lost in the World” (featuring Justin Vernon of Bon Iver)
“Chain Heavy”
“Mama’s Boyfriend”
“All of the Lights”
“Devil in a New Dress”
“Runaway” (featuring Pusha T)
“Dark Fantasy”
“See Me Now” (featuring BeyoncĂ© & Charlie Wilson)
