Live: Glastonbury Emerging Talent Competition 2011

Glastonbury’s Emerging Talent Competition 2011 is now open for entries. It gives “new, unsigned artists from the UK and Ireland the chance to compete for a main stage slot at this year’s Festival. Acts from any musical genre can follow in the footsteps of previous ETC entrants, who include Stornoway, Scouting For Girls, We Have Band, the Golden Silvers, the Subways and last year’s winners Ellen and the Escapades.” Not bad eh, a spot on the Main Stage at Glastonbury, what better way to announce your band to the world.

I urge all unsigned bands to get their entries in. Acts will be able to enter FOR ONE WEEK ONLY from 9am on Monday, 10th January until 5pm on Monday, 17th January 2011 at All you need to do is fill in a simple form and provide a link to where your music can be heard.

There’s bound to be hundreds of entries. So in order to whittle them down, 40 bloggers from the UK and Ireland have been chosen (of which I’m one), and will vote on a longlist of 120 acts, with a panel of judges (including Glasto’s own Michael Eavis) deciding on the eventual winner who gets to perform at Glastonbury 2011.
