Live: Electric Picnic 2011 Lineup Announced

The line-up for Electric Picnic 2011 has been officially announced. After numerous rumours and speculation as to who was due to play, as well as the online leaking of part of the poster (as well as its subsequent appearance on the always ahead-of-the-posse Nialler9, we now know for sure who will be playing Stradbally, Co. Laois on the 2nd to the 4th of September 2011.

I was at Electric Picnic last year and it was an amazing show, so well organised, and really safe (unlike some other festivals). This year sees Arcade Fire, Pulp, and the Chemical Brothers as the big names, but if you’re like me, you’ll be more interested in the smaller names on the bill, the upcoming acts, and the bands you might never get to see otherwise. Highlights for me include the Walkmen, Midlake, and Lykke Li, while Sinead O’Connor, Codes, The Cast of Cheers, RSAG, the Danger Is, Adebisi Shank, and O Emperor fly the flag for Irish acts.

Full lineup:
ARCADE FIRE; PULP; THE CHEMICAL BROTHERS; INTERPOL; PJ HARVEY; BEIRUT; DEATH IN VEGAS; MOGWAI; JIMMY CLIFF; DJ SHADOW; WHITE LIES; OMD; MIDLAKE; THE CHARLATANS; LYKKE LI; BIG AUDIO DYNAMITE; THE GO!
