Album News: Bell x1 – Field Recordings

Bell x1 surprised many with their fifth album Bloodless Coup, adding synth and electronica into the mix. Many were excited by the new direction, but an acoustic tour showed that it was just a sidestep rather than a new direction for the band. July will see the release of the Kildare band’s second live album, taken from their 2010 acoustic tour of America and Europe.

Bell x1′s sound engineer Phil Hayes recorded most of the gigs, and thanks to that they have put together Field Recordings, 21 songs and photography from the road. Field Recordings will be available as a double CD or a limited edition (250 only, numbered) 40 page hardback photobook with CDs. Both packages will only be had from the Bell X1 online Shoppe. It will also be available from iTunes and most digital retailers on July 20th with PreOrders to begin next Monday, May 14th.

For now, have a listen to ‘In Every Sunflower’ recorded live at The Town Hall Theatre in Galway:
