Beastie Boys founding member Adam Yauch ‘MCA’ sadly passed away over the weekend after a battle with cancer. Back in 1994, the Beastie Boys were at the height of their success, having released Ill Communication the previous year, topping the charts in the US and breaking into the top 10 in the UK. The album, and their Glastonbury 1994 performance opened with ‘Sure Shot, which you can sample below. The rest of the gig features songs from that record as well as their previous three albums.
While you’re listening, pop over to On the Record for Jim Carroll’s tribute to Yauch and the band.
